How to Listen to This Week's Episode

Here's how you can listen to our episode:

About This Episode

Special Episode: Usenet Indexers Close Up ShopThis week is a special episode. We actually didn't plan on putting together an episode at all, but in light of the closure of NZBMatrix and Newzbin2, the two primary indexers of Usenet content, we thought it would be worth talking about in a bit more detail. To give us a legal context, we asked Derek Bambauer to join us. This episode consists of a discussion with Derek about the past, present, and future of the entertainment industry and how technology isn't far off from reshaping the landscape of film and television for the foreseeable future.

What's Coming Next?

On December 20th, 2012, we're going to have a live show on Google Hangouts. We'll post more information about this show next week, but we're planning to get started around 11:00 AM Pacific time. If you've got questions you'd like to ask us live, save it for the 20th. We won't be able to get to everyone, but if we have a lot of awesome leftover questions we'll try to get to them when the podcast returns to its standard format after the New Year. After the 20th, we'll be taking a break for the holidays but we'll be back in 2013.

How Do I Submit a Question?

Special Episode: Usenet Indexers Close Up ShopThere are three ways to send in your question:

Please keep your questions as brief as possible. This means about 3-5 sentences for emails and 30-60 seconds for calls and videos. Your questions can be specific, but broader questions are generally better because they'll apply to more people. For example, "how can I breathe new life into my old PDA?" is much better than "what can I do with an old HP iPAQ 210?" Either way, we look forward to hearing from you!
