Wildcats baseball clinic

The annual Plymouth Wildcats Youth Baseball Clinic is slated for 12:30-3:30 p.m. both Tuesday, July 17 and Wednesday, July 18 at the Plymouth High School varsity baseball field.

The clinic is for ?young aspiring athletes? looking to ?improve their baseball fundamentals by receiving age-appropriate instructions from the 2012 Plymouth Wildcats baseball coaching staff and varsity players.?

There will be individual stations for pitching, hitting, catching, infield and outfield play and radar gun readings.

Boys and girls entering grades 2-5 are invited to register. The camp is limited to the first 100 to sign up. Register ASAP at www.baseball.plymouthwildcats.com.

Camp cost is $20 if pre-registered and $25 the day of the clinic. Cost includes a snack. T-shirts will be available for purchase at the clinic.

Fox Hills hole-in-ones

Several hole-in-ones were recorded recently at Fox Hills Golf and Banquet Center in Plymouth.

  • On May 28, Plymouth resident Tim Baechler, 44, used a wedge to ace the 126-yard No. 6 hole at the Hills course. He sank a Titleist Pro VI.
  • Andrew Schubert, 18 of Northville, scored an ace on May 14 at the 124-yard No. 5 hole of the Woodlands course. He also used a wedge to earn his hole-in-one.
  • Another ace was scored May 3, when Livonia resident Dave Stevens, 63, sank his tee shot on the 199-yard No. 3 hole at the Hills course. Stevens smacked a Titleist Pro VI with a 4 iron.
  • Bob Durand, 62, of Brighton, aced the 192-yard No. 6 hole at the Golden Course on April 10. He used a 5 iron and Pro V Titleist.

    Coaches wanted

    Livonia Ladywood is seeking varsity golf and varsity pom pon coaches for the fall of 2012.

    An afternoon and weekend bus driver is also wanted to take teams to games.

    Dearborn Divine Child High School has head coaching vacancies for girls golf and boys ice hockey.

    Boys hoop coach

    Dearborn Heights Annapolis is seeking a varsity boys basketball coach.

    Archery range

    Registration to obtain a pass for the City of Livonia Department of Parks and Recreation archery range is underway at the Parks and Recreation desk, located at the Livonia Community Recreation Center, 15100 Hubbard, Livonia.

    The range will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays (through October); 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays, May-Oct.; 4 p.m. until dusk, Tuesdays and Thursday, Sept.-0ct.

    Resident season pass rates are $25 (individual); $35 (two members); $45 (three members); and $55 (four or more members).

    Non-resident season passes are available for $40 (individual); $50 (two); $60 (three) and $70 (four or more).

    Daily resident rates are $4 (adult) and $2 (17-and-under). Non-resident daily fees are $6 (adult) and $4 (17-and-under).
