Woolworths South Africa ropes in RedPrairie to enhance retail experience

RBR Staff Writer Published 22 June 2012

Woolworths South Africa has roped in supply chain and retail technology provider RedPrairie to provide a workforce management solution (WFM) to help improve the customer experience in-store.

RedPrairie said its WFM solution leverages engineered standards and demand-based forecasts to optimize scheduling, task assignment, and performance measurement as well as compute and pay incentives.

Woolworths plans to use RedPrairie's WFM to leverage point of sale data to generate accurate forecasting and to improve compliance with optimised schedules.

The global supply chain firm claims that its solution will give managers visibility of key performance indicators and tools to manage performance, ensuring that the right persons are available in the right place at the right time.

RedPrairie senior vice president Andrew Kirkwood said, "The performance management capabilities of our workforce solution will enable Woolworths to better serve its customers by more efficiently managing its workforce."

Woolworths, which operates more than 400 retail stores in the country, offers customers a wide range of clothing, food, homeware and beauty products as well as financial services.
